Metaphorithm allows you to look for and browse images, which have a similar metaphorical message to an image you upload.

It does not try to search for similar images by matching objects or shapes, be they organic or mechanical. Other online search tools already offer services of this kind.

Our hypothesis goes a little further. We seek not to match objects, but meanings. Our algorithm is based on a prior metaphorical analysis of images, which identifies the message(s) images may transmit. Metaphorithm then offers you a range of other images with a similar metaphorical content.

As a first step, we are using a third-party image recognition service. Details are important and sometimes the description the service offers is not as accurate as it could be.

Therefore, we offer you the chance to enhance the search result by adding your own words or replacing the description.
